Just goes to show that reform is the only solution. There is no point waiting out for the Visa bulletins for the next 6-7 months...
But someone was mentioning that unusedvisas for the current year is "released" in the 4th quarter (July-Sep). May be something would come out of that...
In similar context I have a few questions...
The EB2 date is stuck at Jan 08,2003 for months now.I know about retrogression and all that. But can someone explain why the date is not moving? Is it because they ran out of numbers for EB2 for FY 06? (Like they do in H1 cases)
Also does anyone know why the EB2 visa numbers were dropped from 537 in FY05 to 145 in FY06? and why suddenly in 2006 they granted so many visas(6083 in FY06 vs 0 in FY05) to Schedule A workers (Nurses,Physical Therapist,Aliens with excep ability) ? was Schedule A category backlogged for all these years? I am just trying to get some things cleared about how the visa numbers are allocated.

well he changed the day he got his GC and started ignoring me.. well I don't care as well, they hardly even exists for us...
But this is right some got their GC out of the way just like that. and this is first hand information. No cousins and no neighbors...

I hate to be nitpicky here, but that is not what Ronnie said.
Ronnie stated in no uncertain terms that "Immigration and Tax Filing are not at all related". This statement, in any which way you look at, is factually incorrect. Unfortunately it perpetuates the misconception that your non-immigrant status (which is an integral topic in the subject of immigration) has nothing to do with your taxes. In fact, many people often make this mistake, only to be corrected when presented with the 1040 instructions, and Publication 519.
If Ronnie had said something to the effect that filing jointly or separately will not have an affect on your immigration status or Green Card application, then I might not have objected. However, it should be filed in compliance with the law.
I am taking a guess that what Ronnie meant to say was that, Tax filing (whether or not you file jointly) has no implications on your immigration process... which is true.
If you filed 'married filing separately' does not mean that you dont want to support your spouse anymore as a derivative of your I-485 !

This is truly a great idea. We must show the 'family' face of our struggle. This country is built on compassion (at least that's what they claim in the mainstream media). Each one of us must send one family picture to the President of United States and urge him to take a closer look at the current USCIS process and make it better.
I also urge to send a good family picture with kids. Definitely it must impact someone who would look at the pictures.

As long as your marriage date is prior to your 485 approval date and the dates are current(means your priority date) you can apply for spouse 485.
I am also in the same boat and I am waiting my priority date to be current.

LCA Salary is determined by Labor office, those great folks always come up with salary ...that no one pays.
Talk to your employer and ask about seeking higher salary. Most folks get huge jump ( in normal market) when they get their EAD since employer knows now they will move somewhere else.
Donot panic about everyting.

That is true. This thing called "special handling" in common parlance is, thank god, not a hot topic of discussion. I hope this clause doesn't get weeded out given the current scenario where they have killed F4. I really wonder if "highly skilled" legal immigrants would ultimately get any benefit out of this bill. Limboland is where many people are - and at the end of the day you still get to live in Limboland and become its citizens by default.

For my recent in-laws trip, I took insurance from ICICI Lombard. As one of the previous poster mentioned they are tied up with United Healthcare and they give you an Identity Card from United Healthcare. I previously used United and they are pretty good. So its a reliable Insurance.
I took the platinum cover for my in-laws(age:mid 50s) and it came to around INR 16k for both of them for a 3 months stay, which I consider is reasonable, given a $ 250K coverage.
Previously when my parents came, I have taken ICICI Lombard. Though I was lucky enough that they did not have any medical issues and I did not need to show up at any doctor/hospital.

I bet you your attorney had either not replied that RFE and plainly let go the matter or the RFE response must have not gotten to USCIS in time. It had happened to one of my company collegue as well. Please ask your attorney to give you copies of details about the RFE and also provide (with FEdEx tracking number) the response that he wrote to USCIS. It is very easy to track if it is your company attorney screw-up or a genuine issue.

Reading your case, I think best would be for you to find another job and file a new PERM application. You will retain the earlier priority date.
Additionally, have you considered getting a 3 year H1B extension based on the approved 140? I am not sure whether you can do it because you no longer work for this company. So, when you got a H1B transfer (for the new company B), did they give you 3 years or 1year extension for H1B?

Initially they said to him he was not eligible, but when he showed them his first India stamping they let him in.

That was just what I knew. For example NV does the same because they dont have state tax. They don't see a reason why they should give instate for people on temporary visas and do not pay taxes to the state. They consider us as people who are here on Non Immigrant visas who will leave any time. As you said ,TX might be more considerate.

I think we should give an option for more than $100 too i.e. a blank field with a validation that it cannot be less than 20$. Also instructions should be given on how to cancel the monthly subscription. Also it should be agreed by the patrcipant that he won't ask for money back and in case he does that we should be putting rules around it such as administrative fees. This would make sure that the fees IV pays to paypal for transactions is taken care of.
My suggestions , doesn' mean that these needs to be implemented , also all those who sign of monthly with proven monthly of minimun 50$ should only be allowed to get into members only forum threads etc etc...again $50 is an example....
