There are no 2 ways to this.. it is injustice and screwed up process of DOL and USCIS.....but the situation (DOL) is no different than 1 day ago. it should not warrant you to start this thread.

Are the attorneys and law firms spreading rumors about
EB retogression on July 2nd ?

    Cynical view:
May be they hope to discourage other people from filing this
    weekend?

    Non-cynical view:
May be they everyone is nervous and gone insane?:D
one more nail on our coffin :D

Most people say wait a month. Atleast that's what I plan to do. Any word on how Infopass works?
My PD is May 16 2006 and my friends with later PD were getting approval emails. Being curious I went to the local USCIS office w/ infopass appt and found out that my and my wife's 485 cases were approved couple of days ago and card production was ordered. The online status @ USCIS.gov still shows initial review which I think is the case many others too. I'd recommend taking infopass appt at local USCIS center and kill your curiousity.

Yes He is correct. You have the full June to file.

Can someone elaborate on this. My attorney said the PD that it HAS to be ON OR BEFORE June 1st, If this attorney is right I would LOVE to know;)

Naa.. Lots of people including me never received CPO email. For such instances, CPO email will take a while (may be an issue with expired Biometrics..etc). The wait continues for some more time to see the actual cards in the mail. There is a dedicated thread on this issue on .

There is no consistency with USCIS' process (or at least none that we can infer). For me and my wife, we only received the CPO emails. We haven't received any emails or updates that they have sent us a notice about registering us an Perm Residents...

With parameshwara's anugrah, my status changed yesterday(Sep 1st, 2009) to "Card Production Ordered".

End to my long wait and frustration.

I wish and hope others get their card soon.

Thanks to ImmigrationVoice team for their work without them, USCIS wouldn't be so efficient and wouldn't have cared to process the applications in the order of PD. IV is doing lot of things which will help the immigration community and I completely support their activities.

I have donated to IV before and now I am starting a new monthly contribution for next six months.

everybody is assuming tha CIR will have a chance in 2011.........that is based off the assumption that Dems will still have the house and senate after 2010.....

If there is a hispanic baclkash against the DEMS in 2010.......then no CIR for the forseeable future......

    Just my 2 cents........

Since we now know that SA 187 had nothing to do with immigration and that it WAS indeed passed, the possible typo in this thread (about SA 187) title should be changed to something along the lines "Senate immigration amendment to H.R 2 NOT passed".

Besides we should whoheartedly explore with Kennedy, Kerry et al. if they game for pushing the immigration amendment (w/o the hard 10% country cap) in the house-senate conference.

If they are playing politics with the Sen Session illegal immigrant amendment (which passed!) we might as well use their tete-a-tete to our advantage ;)
BTW sen Sessions amendment also did not pass. It was just introduced, Th estatus of SA143(session's amendment) and SA180 is same.

Snathan, Thanks for all your help. Its been 9 months that my application is in PERM process and nothing happened except an AUDIT. I want to get out of this mess. I want to do anything that i can do to get out of this mess soon.

    Samantha,

Attorney can contact the DOL after 4 months of the audit reply. My reply was on March 11th. My attorney asked me to wait 2 more months for her to contact DOL.

If it is 4 months after the audit reply, ask your attorney to contact the DOL.

    Hi Guys,

Happy to say , got the CPO status last night for my EAD.

I had e-filed on May 25th. 4 days back had called up customer service, and one lady said she would send an expedite request. Probably that did the trick. I had taken info pass appmnt for Aug 25 and was planning to meet the local congresman today.

Good luck you all. I know how frustrating the wait is ..

    Hi,

Can you tell us what reason can we say to get the Expedited Request done?? Looks like they have a list of reasons and am not sure if that would create any more issues for us!

    Thanks

    what it means

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Document production or Oath Ceremony

On July 29, 2009 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a green card) or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, refugee travel documents or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

Yes and until we know what we are lobbying for, why would we part with money? Here is the about IV page - http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16034 - and it talks about two or three things that IV has done in the past. What is giving money to IV going to do for us in the future? Like they say for stocks. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Which bills does IV support? What kind of legislation are they lobbying for? I support the cause of IV because I'm facing all the problems that IV is trying to solve.

Microsoft spent millions to get H1B increase. It did not happen till now. So should they stop investing in lobbying?

Last year there ere 3 bills for us brought by IV lobbying-- Recapture, Country Limits and Exemption of people with Masters in Science.

Just because the bill failed and you or Zen did not get your greencard does not mean IV did not do anything meaningful campaign? You are with IV since 2007, did you do anything for these bill action items last year? How much did you contribute? Did you work on the IV campagn to add cosponsors and get the bill for vote? If I knew, I would have done it.

I came new to IV but I spent time going into old forum threads by searching and came to know about it.

I will blame you for not getting me my green card till now. You are here since 2007 and did not do anything to help me and others get my green card.

    Thanks for kind position response.

    Guys following are action items,
    1) Finalise letter template - we need to use INA and specify where what needs to be changed. - we have sent old template to Mr. Schumer - CIR architect.
    2) With immigration voice Send Email interface Send email to local Senator / Congressman/woman.
    3) Call local senator/ Congressman/woman for appointment describing subject above. - we had followup call with Mr. Schumers office.
    4) Meet and Give presentation.
    5) Revisit office on subject & keep issue alive and request this to be added to CIR.

Is this IV approved? Please do not jeopardize by asking for things using IV letterhead/interface that have not been approved by the IV team............. There is too much at stake for the people who are still in line for GC (let alone citizenship)

We don't need to alert the general public about our issues.
What we need to do is alert people who can make a difference.
Also, the costs are huge for news paper advertisements and may also irritate the general public.

Now that we have the people aware through Flowers, we can go for the big kill.
Advertize in Newspapers in D.C., State capitals or National newspapers
We can contribute to IV and IV can advertize.
Half page ad with facts, events and Rep. Lofgren letter.
Nothing works better than mass media awareness
    What do you think IV?

Having to wait 10 years for mere permanent resident status in a country in itself is ridiculous, compared to processing times in countries such as Canada, and Australia.

If anything, the period should be much shorter - about 3-5 years from entry as H1B (or any other work visa).

It's critical that the time start from date of entry with a work visa - not filing of labor certification/I-140/I-485. Many folks may have had to change jobs multiple times (for example, during and after the .COM bust) and the process would've restarted each time.

    jazz

I have received messages from people who have been here around 10 years without a GC. I wonder how common this is. What do you think about proposing a "fast track" for people who have been here legally for more than a certain amount of time?
