Hey,
Has anyone heard of a mac version of PTE, I used to have a windows computer and would use PTE everyday to download Power tabs from ultimate-guitar.com however recently our family got a mac and I can't get it to work. Is there any alternative besides VMware to run this? I have had to get my tabs from music downloads (http://http://www.emusic.com/).

wow that is tempting! i'm tellin ya, if you can afford it, gotta get that EVGA SR-2!
Don't you need the equivalent Xeon processors for the SR2?
Yeah that would go so beautifully in my Lian Li case  I'd spend $200 if I can fine one for that price.

Microsoft is rock solid?
Let's see, as a 15 year IT worker who has supported many MS environments, I have been yanked out of bed at 2am 3 times because "new" viruses that the Anti-Virus software didn't even know about, had brought down hundreds of machines on the network, and had even brought down routers and switches.
I think the $100,000 we might spend on IPS/IDS blades for all the core switches to analyze the traffic coming from Windows machines might be better spent if we just put Macs in the network and maybe stick a free Snort box in there as an after thought.
Companies spend millions just keeping their Windows machines in line -thank about it. MS has never been serious about security.

This is what the big dogs use. And there is good reason for it. If you cut with more than one person on a project you can't beat a unity or an ISIS.
Final cut is fine. But it's no AVID. So when people say Final Cut is the industry standard on here they aren't talking about the Film & Television industry.
Final cut made a big jump for a couple years because of producers trying to cut cost in post but you get what you pay for.

the only single card in a quad that allows dual displays is the quadro fx 4500--an $1800 card. you'd be better off with your 6600+another 6600 or 7800, unless you're doing really video card-intensive tasks or something.

That's my submission. The following animation is what I made originally, but it is 300KB, which is why I'm pissed off that I had to trim it down so much. Let this fully load first (http://andrej.gadgetgaming.com/images/avatars/million/animbig.gif).

Great result there! just wondering how did you get the tiger dock in SL... I've tried to find out a way to get it, but never found such a perfect result. it looks exactly as the tiger one: Is that a theme or have you replaced some files in the library?
It's this (http://lukeedee.deviantart.com/gallery/24453858#/d2xadpl) one from Deviantart. I was so happy when I found it, but it turns out the it makes a 100px region around the Dock (to the left, right and centre) completely unusable. Neither the mouse or two finger scrolling works in that region, but I didn't know it was the dock causing that at the time.
I've now settled on this:

Not very Tiger-ish, but it looks alright. It's SL's 2D dock with white indicators and white separator bar. Archive is here (http://d.pr/QmRq), copy to the Dock.app's resources folder (you'll have to delete the originals first).

Apple already has its own database. It dropped Google's location services with release of iOS 4.
Take out your iPhone. Open up maps. Look at a map. Look in the lower left-hand side of the screen. What does it say riiiiight above the compass arrow button?

I've been keeping an eye on the refurbished displays section of the Apple Store and was surprised to see the 2nd item in the attached screenshot this evening.
I wonder where Apple found these. This is model M9179LL/A, discontinued in 2006 according to Mactracker.

Red is screwed, yellow is sucky, green is above replacement... You don't want birth rate to drop below 2.1, Turkey the only country above replacement is 2.14...
Yes, that is an issue for concern. However, how is this relevant to gay rights? Despite the birth rate in the UK being around 2 (1.96 if I remember correctly) there are, sadly, plenty of children/babies in need of a good home. Recently, the law was changed to ensure homosexuals would be able to adopted children if they want. Lesbian couples could also ask for a donor, and gay couples for a surrogate.
We need to move beyond the idea that marriage is about a man and a women reproducing. Firstly, it isn't about that. Secondly, there is no reason same-sex couples can't raise just as many children as heterosexual couples.

Anyone know of an easier way to refresh direct messages? Other than that, it's a very nice app...loving the new nearby interface.

Added geektool scripts finally! I feel like my corners are balanced now. So many useful small apps too! Let me know what you guys think!

this looks awesome! does having these scripts on your computer slow it down it all?
if not, is there a tutorial to do this sort of this somewhere on this site? there used to be in one of the old desktop threads but i can't find it at the moment :(.
