hhmmm.....architecture would be cool. But I think that would focus to much on the rendering than the modelling. I really would like to do a character contest. SOmething robotic that leaves the modeller to make it as detailed or as not detailed. But it is up to you. I need to add more 3d pieces to my folio, so I am really going to do it the this time lol. Since the time frame will be so long. We should try to have intermediate deadlines or WIP posts to keep interest in the contest.

Actually country quota may be unfair based on skills. But green card is not the selection of brightest in interview or test. All the cases of gc are tested and everyone are equally important. For example scientist in Nasa and a Programmer in a Tech company are important. If really see merrit Nasa scientist must have priority. But really everyone is important as they are important for their employer. So having country quota will not select any incapable persons as every candidate is tested.
Also even if country quota is eliminated there is not going to be much difference in EB3(May be 6 month to 1 year PD difference). If you put calculations you can understand very well because unused quota is used in last quarter. Better calculate before starting compaign. May be another few thousand Visas could be utilized as Visas may not be wasted. If Recapture bill is passed with or without country quota then entire EB3 will be benefited. Otherwise it is just helpful to spoil the chances of row people at the same time it will not give much benefit to EB3 Indians.
I remember that EB3 persons were angry with EB2 people for a few months as they got all of other countries EB2.

I called USCIS this morning and the lady took 3 mnute to explain me why the delay was happening. She mentioned that they will conduct a sweep on Fri Apr 4th to determine the I-485 cases in light of new visa bulletin and that cases will be assigned to IOs by Mon Apr 14th.
Not that I believe on help desk type of info with their primary job is get the caller off the phone but I have to admit that she was polite.
I will call again on Apr 4th and keep the forum updated.

However, is it possible to send it to Senators Grassley, Sanders too. I say this because these senators need to hear that we oppose this bill too and I am not sure how many of our members from IA and VT are active and are sending this message to them.

The rally was very well organized and I am glad that I flew down from CA to attend. On the flight back I was watching Lou Dobbs on CNN and they used a clipping from our rally and did a whole piece on illegal immigration without even mentioning the rally!! That is so typical of the media.

Lets not limit this task for someone who is close to DC. The person close to DC can always represent to visit. But we need support in getting an appointment. Getting an appointment is something that is not limited to only individuals close to DC. Use the help of your congressman to get an appointment or their help to address this issue.
the congressmen have aides who meet their constituents. Department officials need not give appointments to public. So we need some influence to get the appointment. I am meeting my congressman's aide on Nov 20th. But all of us need to do the same. hopefully one or more of us succeed.
We can fine tune the letter in matter of minutes. WE NEED TO WORK ON GETTING THE APPOINTMENT.

I spoke with the immigration guy at my ex employers place. My 140 was indeed revoked. He doesnt know the date when it was revoked. He is certain the 140 sponsoring employer is willing to employ me. This means I can get an Employment Verification Letter from him.
Will this cause a concern with USCIS as
1. This company applies for 140
2. Revokes an approved 140 when employee quits
3. Is again willing to offer the job
Should I take AC21 route instead as I have an offer with the company B.

if you are current, when can you expect to get an approval notice ?
My online I485 status continues to be in "Initial Review" stage and the last date of change on my file was back in 2008.
Is there anything we can do to shake this up or just wait.

I hope some lawyer on this forum or on their respective websites can answer this question I think most folks have given their FP's only once some where from Oct - Dec 2007 time frame and USCIS said they do not need more FP's for most cases since they now have the ability to reuse the FP's. My guess is unless you have a criminal record of some kind or perhaps your name appears in the POI list they do not call you for FP again perhaps some random cases as part of Quality checks might be included but thats it.

1) Massive campaigns won't do the job in fact they will do more harm then results particularly in this environments (learn from Hispanic community protests before CIR)
2) Mr. Change alone don't have to do something about it? he can direct his DHS and CIS people to do their jobs.. just because economy of economy is bad that does not mean people stop eating food.
3) We and institutions like IV needs to come up with agenda to lift this country quota ban (at least to eliminate this huge backlog)
4) IV says they have agenda but nobody knows their laundry list agenda.
5) We need to work for lifting this country quota ... this is the only way that things can become REASONABLE.
