The reason I gave was financial loss. I said I'm the only bread earner in the family with a dependant wife and daughter.
I called up thrice, since the first two reps did not even open a SR. The third person was good and he transferred me to I guess a level II rep. She sent the expedite request.
..and this is just what I'm thinking that, it all happened due to the expedite request. It's very much possible that it could have happened on it's own..

Both of you can apply 485 based on your own PD but do not apply the other as dependent 485. That way you are not taking any chances. The only dis advantage is both of you will get GC at different times as they'll be processed independently. Both of you will have two chances with either one in the long run!!!

It is surprising (rather shocking) to see how a discussion on an EB bill (which might never see the light of day anyway) has degenerated into an oft-repeated rant on how IV does not represent EB3.
When I meet with my lawmaker's office (and when I again meet in Feb), I repeat the IV provisions which are for ALL EB and not any specific category/country. THe problem with EB3 is the with the way the EB system/inventory is set-up. It is stupid to convert a chronic issue into a "IV is not trying" debate. As always, we have lots of armchair critics and few grass-roots workers.
If you trust IV Core and its advisory board and believe that they know how politics works better than you and me you are entitled to your opinion and you may be right too. Certainly IV Core knows how political work, there is no denying that but my point of contention is that does what ICV Core believe and are working towards match with what is good for EB3?
And there as the bard would say lies the rub
Now again in response to that you and most of the people would agree that IV Core goals is good for EB3. Now out of all the people who agree how many are EB3 and how many are EB2. Again IV Core would say many EB3 agree with what they do because IV is not about helping anyone, IV is about helping yourselves (EB3 or EB2), and when it comes to the fact of helping ourselves i for one feel that IV core would do better to listen to the EB3 voice out there. Why do i feel EB3 specific voice is not being heard? Well the answer to that is very simple. It is because EB3 as a whole has NOT seen any benefit out of the rule changes which happened till now and any new initiative which gets the support of IV.

What is important is what is done is the right thing., If it is the question of EB3 waiting fore ever (say 10 years) or EB3 waiting more than forever (say 20 years) i would plum for which ever option gives relief to people (even if it extends my GC wait time) who are of older priority date and who should get relief, not because they have waited for so long but because they waited for so long in the line and followed all the rules and it is just mind blowing that people who have applied for GC in 2008 and 2010 and expecting that they deserve to get GC because they are EB2 and no other reason.

A fund raising party sounds like fun! Coffee Hour too..
I have already got my Aunt and two of my friends to sign up for Team IV so far. We are going to train together atleast once a week and we will organize a fund raising party and contribute all the proceeds to IV.

Same here. My labor was filed on July 07 and Audit reply was sent in August 07. Attorney has contacted DOL twice and got same standard reply. Mine was filed at Chicago though.
I have no idea why Chicago is taking this long for my labor. All of my friends who filed at Chicago after me got theirs certified. I am the only one stuck.
I think denying labor is better than keeping it stuck for almost 1 year in audit.

i fully support eb3 becoz their backlog and pain is more severe...... but fragmenting everyone in smaller groups..... like eb3 v/s eb2 v/s eb1 will not fix any problem...... i think there are anti-immigrants or people from other tracker websites who create fake ids to make people to fight with each other..... look at this eb2_unite guy..... she/he created his id today and is suggesting creating a new group of eb2...... i know for certain ..... 1000% certain that he will not do anything about creating a group...... he is writing inflammatory posts so that people here are divided and continue to talk rubbish......

If you are a staunch supporter of the EB3 cause, it is your prerogative, but you cannot expect every EB2 person to fall in line with your thoughts and call them traitors. Is it a sin for EB2 people to join together and protect their interests and represent their case? Is it not democratic? What way is it inflammatory or legally wrong? I am only asking those EB2 people who feel that they would be affected to ponder over the impact of a re-interpretation. There is a legal avenue to port from EB3 to EB2. Eligible EB3 folks can certainly port to EB2 and get benefited.

tons of pre perm applications after approved will go nuts becoz the candidates have already left the employers .
I am sure that dates will remain current in August also. I believe INS will give EAD and will let all wait for GC therefore needs to go to Parole. Once you are in AP, that means, you all are golden eggs laying ducks to INS everyyear.
One +ve plus for is , DESI companies are gone and we can change jobs but its premium price for lot of guys for years to pay .

All those who are still waiting in BEC black hole, I feel for you. I was stuck in BEC for four years. Only managed to get out a couple of months ago after they allowed TR cases to be converted to RIR.
I tend to think the same way as chanduv23. Our final goal is a Green card, and it may still turn out that the people who are currently still waiting in BEC may end up getting their GC in hand before many of the ones that can apply for 485 in July.
The reason is that USCIS has clearly stated that it will retrogress big time in September. So, people with recent PDs may get to file their 485 but may have to wait for a long time for their PD to become current again to get the approval notice (folks, I am not wishing ill against any group here! I wish we all got our GCs ASAP. But since that is not going to happen, just trying to analyze facts). On the other hand, if BEC comes through with their sep 07 prediction, then these people with much older PDs may be able to apply for their 140/485 at that time and may end up getting their GC 6-12 months later because their PDs will still be current at the time of approval (Of course, this is assuming that they will not get caught in the Name Check Black hole)
So, all those who are still stuck in BEC, please hang in there, your day of freedom will arrive (maybe sooner than you are currently thinking).

We have a lot of ground to cover and only 154 members have shown commitment.
The whole retrogression is very depressing if you were to look at numbers and predictions based on the numbers. This is the reason we need to work harder and contribute our time and money for this effort. If we cannot do it this year, then we can easily forget getting a greencard for the next 2 years and more. There will be no immigration bill next year due to presidential election.
This is all the more reason for us to go all out and get the immigration bill passed this year itself. We need all members to help in this effort. We have a strong membership of around 8500 members we can count on for support. However it is sad that only 154 members have thus far contributed in the past 1 week despite all the effort to raise funds. IV is prepared to go all out and get the work done, the question is ARE YOU?

I just wanted to say that the rally, all the pre-rally prep, and meeting with lawmakers was such an intense and exhilarating experience! I feel so priviledged to have met some of the core IV people - I felt like a groupie meeting superstars! They are truly inspiring... There were so many other wonderful people I had the chance to meet who now make my wait more meaningful. It was such fun getting to know all of you and sharing the experience. I have wonderful memories of the entire event...
