Why are browser features worth paying $129 for a new OS?
I got a feeling that those features won't be the only improvements in Leopard... ;)

There's been reports of battery issues to. I haven't tested it myself, but it seems like I'm getting less battery life since 4.3.1, which is what many others have been saying. I don't know how widespread this isssue is, though.
I would say my battery life is worse as well, and I would not see why this would not be affecting everyone running 4.3.1. So I am looking forward to the update.

Yeah, MAY have. That's hypothetical.
But it was treason. There is a good reason that was a capital offense. The scale of death and misery that can be dealt through effective treason is far greater than than even a spray of bullets. If you support capital punishment, you should be in favor of hanging a traitor.
For that matter, why not Madoff? The effects of his mischief harmed far more people than even Manning. Why should he be spared the chair?

Even if it where true, what's wrong with treating prisoners humanely? Shouldn't we try to rehabilitate prisoners so if they are released they don't commit another crime? And in the US at least prisoners can't vote, could you show a source saying that they can it the UK?
"The IMB considers that the duration and frequency of use of cellular confinement and loss of association were excessive and were indicative of a punitive regime."
A punitive regime? It's PRISON. It should be a punitive regime.
The report claimed there was too much emphasis on security and control at the prison and identified a need to focus "much more on the rehabilitation and resettlement of prisoners".
Wow. Too much emphasis on security and control? Again...it's PRISON. It's not a summer camp.
That article sounded a bit too hippie-dippie to me, and I'm pretty darn liberal.
Prison should be a miserable, dank, depressing place that makes you suffer for what you did. Of course, this is for violent criminals or those who have severely affected other people in a life-altering or life-ending way. Not for drug users, traffic violators, etc.
If you're in prison for triple homicide, there should be no TV, no internet, no Playstation, no workout facility...nothing. You rot in your cell. If you want rehabilitation and whatnot, figure out some way that still makes the suffering real.

i don't want to ruin everyones excitement, but straight from iLounge (http://www.ilounge.com) - New iPod shuffle arrives; old earphones, weak clip? (http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/news/comments/new-ipod-shuffle-arrives-old-earphones-weak-clip/8907):( :( :(
I really hope the weak clip issue is just because it is a shuffle from an early batch. Would anyone who already has a new shuffle like to comment?
My clip feels just fine.

A friend of mine who works at IBM grouses about having to use Lotus Notes. I didn't imagine anyone used it that didn't have to.
Maybe it's just IBM and Grant Thornton.;)

Funny how NC law forbids the sale of handguns to anyone under 21, but you're 21 and you already have 2 expensive guns (and the iPhone you took the photo with). And yet you have to run a racket to be able afford a guitar.

... As I'm going through my folders in search of the files he starts getting flustered and belittling. ...
Besides pricing yourself too low and underestimating the time needed to pull-off a project, I picked up on this (your quote).
If you're going to be a professional graphic designer, it's time you got your filing/archiving system down. As you saw on that phone call, a little fumbling around and disorganization doesn't reflect wel and gives your nightmare clients the opportunity to belittle you. Don't give them that opportunity. Be organized.
One final thing. Phone time is meeting time. Meeting time is billable. Especially when the phone calls are over 1/3 of your billable time.
And good luck with the career. :)

Patents like this are so annoying
http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsrchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=7,069,055.PN.&OS=PN/7,069,055&RS=PN/7,069,055
So basically Samsung has patented: A clock with multiple time zones in a mobile phone.
How on Earth is a patent like that supposed to promote innovation?
(the original reason we got the patent system back some centuries ago)
Also, this one just makes me want to tear my hair out
http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsrchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=7,009,626.PN.&OS=PN/7,009,626&RS=PN/7,009,626
Apple will surely manage this, but what about the independent developer with no huge pile of cash to throw at some lawyers? THAT is the problem here.. :(
Are there any cases of giant companies suing indies for patent infringement? I realise it often happens the other way around, but I can't recall a case where some poor indie is muscled out of business via a patent. It just doesn't seem worth it.

Here are some pics of the release in Tokyo Japan 5 hours ago. What a blast....I was number 51...2 hour before release. The line ended up taking 2 blocks. I would say up around 700 people in the line. They served us hot starbucks coffee as we waited in the rain

Among other things we basically placed them under an oil embargo their need for natural resources and they're inability to attain them from us in a peaceful manner encouraged them to invade.
Also by your logic we are criminally involved in Iraq at the moment. Seeing as they were not aggressors against us, and we had no reason to invade.
The oil embargo was caused by the invasion of Japan to Indochina.
And yes, if the US invaded Iraq without any reason it would be a crime. This would be a whole new debate about if there were enough reasons to justify the Iraq war.

The Samsung Galaxy S II is a very impressive smartphone.
It also includes Swype, the best touch screen input method ever. I've been using swype for months. The speed, accuracy, and enjoyment of using it, is simply amazing.
I'm so disappointed that Apple rejected it. Swype would add even more fun to the iPhone. Not to mention its incredible ease of use and speed.
