This new rule of USCIS, effects every one. In one way or the other. if the rule is enforced strictly
1)The unemployment increases (Paralegal staff, lot of americans working for consulting companies(IBM, TEK systems, accenture etc.., Immigration Lawyers, uscis personel, staff.. You name it)
2)It effects Greencard holders or EAD holders not directly but in one or two years because outsourcing increases.
3)F1 students mainly (man how are these guys going to survive if consulting companies cant apply for them)

needed for citizenship. In fact half of U of T Rotman (high rank as per businessweek ) look at US job market after graduation.
Its good for Finance and Toronto is close to new york area.

Please do not use offensive language. Despite our disagreements we must be mature in our language. I request you to please edit your post. Moderators please delete any offensive posts on the thread since this issue will ruffle some feathers of people who are buying labor substitution. Nobody will own on the forum, because they know majority will oppose them.
There was one more person beciskillingme and he used to preach morality on this forum and how people need to be respectful and polite. I caught him redhanded in one his posts about labor substitution and he ran away from the forum. Now he is preaching somewhere else. I will highlight this issue more and more for awareness because it is hurting all of us. It is also encouraging exploitation by employers and this cancer needs to be stopped asap.

lordoftherings, I doubt there is a country in the world that would fit all. I also doubt such a thing as "ideal immigration policy" exists. It is always good to have a job offer before you immigrate, but it's ultimately up to the immigrant to find out what it'll take to get on his/her feet in the new country.
After reading (and watching videos of) all those sob stories on notcanada.com and the like about doctors, nurses, engineers who can't get a job or have to study for years to get a Canadian license to practice, I wonder how much of a research those folks did prior to coming to Canada. If a medical occupation requires studying for additional time and taking exams, then you should have learned about it. If engineers of your specialty are not in high demand, you can figure it out by going through Canadian job postings and contacting employers. If you are not willing to look for a job elsewhere but Toronto, then it's your problem: perhaps in Calgary the opportunities are more readily available. I have a friend in Montreal who owns an IT recruitment company. He told me that they are sending IT folks from Ontario to Alberta, since Alberta unemployment rate for IT professionals is currently at 0.5%.
Bottom line is: research for yourself, ask different people, be flexible about where you want to live in the new country (hey, it's the country's demands you need to adjust to, not the other way around!) -- this will save you from many unpleasant surprises.

Hello Sir,
I am in a process of getting name change for my wife on pending I485. This is because her first name is given as 'No Name Given' by USCIS on the I485 file, EAD and A.P. As she did not have first name in passport.
We recently got her name change on passport by adding my(husbands name) as SURNAME. Now we want to refelect this change on EAD and 485.

Reality is that you don't want to see Indians and Chinese around you. I am sure IV does not need people like you. IV does not promote nationality and we are against all the bad pracitices of the body shoppers but we don't want someone to label Indians and Chinese in this country product of bodyshopping immigration.
Most of the population are well educated , skilled professionals and labelling them that they are flooding the market is insulting. If you think that you don't have marketable skills and is difficult for you to play due to Indians and Chinese, please feel free not to come back to this website. Even if it is ok to fight how much resource IV have it to fight multiple issues. Resource means not just money but also time, manpower and effort. Most of the issues can be resolved if EB reform is done as people need not renew H1b as most can get GC within 3 years. Law clearly tells that there should be valid job position for H1b at the time of filing. For consulting bodyshoppers will bring persons here and search for job. That is clearly violation of law.
But certainly it can be requested to USCIS to change if geneunie persons are impacted. If memorendum is violation of law then USCIS will face lawsuit and you can also do that

Dude we are considered the cream of the crop who think clearly. How can we hand over the reigns of future of our sons and the well being of our daughters to a person who supported the rape and murder to young girls and destroyed livelihoods of thousands.
Imagine our christian friends trying to convince the jewish friends that they support Hitler because he is development pushing leader who is also church going, non smoking and that they do not support the side which actually supports rape, incarceration and murder of thousands who scrap out their living in the country. There is nothing like supporting half a person. You either support all his deeds or you dont.
Let me ask you this. I am a Brahmin and should I hand over future of my children to any other party than BJP? What should I read out of reservations for OBCs?
Let alone reservations, now a days the people who got reservation are controlling everything in the govt. If anything goes against their wish, they are ready to file a complaint. Once they file a false complaint against you. The onus is on you to prove you did not call them backwards or discriminate against them.

If BJP has blood on their hands for not protecting Muslims, Congress too has blood on its hand for persecuting sikhs. Were they not people?

Lets start writing to authorities about SSA money. This is the best time to ask for it because we are in a recession. They won't be able to make a decision but may remove country quota.
Can we make a letter with all the issues we are facing and mail it to all the authorities.
Can somebody summarise the thread and we look for a action plan. Please do it soon before the fire burns out

This is actually a pretty good argument/statistic. However; it isn't specific to employment base but rather to worldwide level of immigration from all sources.
