So far, there is no provision of 485 filing without priority date becoming current. Has this failed too? Just two weeks before Feb. 15th. I guess the fate of this provision is determined now.
It seems that nothing can happen before Feb. 15th. Even the H1 increase has not happened yet. Democrats do not seem to be immigration-friendly as many expected before. No hope for CIR this year. No hope for SKIL this year. What a miserable situation!

1. Eliminate EAD & AP, let I485 receipt notice be sufficient for travel and employment authorization.
2. Restart H1B visa renewal by mail. Let there be added scrutiny while the application is processed. It atleast wont let people out of country for unknown time.

All these ideas have been debated several times before and there have been too many bills that didnt go anywhere. It's probably wiser to try to push the bills that have already been introduced than to push new ones and waste more time. My experience is the more the number of bills floating around, the more the excuses to not do anything on the active bill but tendency to attach it to a newer bill ad hence buy more time till next election and then next and then next. seen it, been there and tracked it for over 5 years. I undertsand your pain, we all do, I also undertsand the frustration.

I do agree that my manner was too sarcastic and you seem like an overly sensitive kind of guy and you probably like things sugar coated-here it is-good idea, thought by many, several times before your eureka moment. Fact is- Bills (eventually they will all be merged ino one) are not likely to succeed till 2011, as it's a non-election year and something might happen with bills already there. With the weak economy no party can afford to look immigrant friendly (legal/illegal irrespective) when there is 10% unemployement rate in local population. well I would like to add, I do know details of how a Bill gets created, is reviewed, gets to the Floor of the house, Senate and becomes law.
I do know that once a member of either house presents a Bill, it has to be sponsored, supported by others and go to a sub-committee first. sometimes gets added to other bills.

"Completely false rumor. Legally impossible for retrogression to occur prior to Aug. 1. You'll be getting a Breaking News from us on it today or tomorrow."
Can you all please post what your lawyer's take is on this matter. My lawyer also said that there is no need to worry and saying that she went on vacation till next Wednesday.
I just can't get enought of these lawyers, and government agencies. Who says India is any worse? Have you heard of anything like that in India?

My last one filed on April 2. In "Process". Whether filed onlined or mailed, PERM is processed by DOL federal centers in Atlanta and Chicago, as far as I remember (mine went to Atlanta -the number starts with "A). Why is the guy talking about particular state? Only PWD is acquired from the "state workforce agency"( the actual names differ between states).

most companies either want to hire contractors or outsource work so your statement "about real jobs for real employers" is not correct. The people working as contractors are infact working on real jobs for real US employers. Not many companies are willing to hire people on H1 on a full time basis because of all the costs associated with the H1 processing not to mention the paper work. They want to contract employees in general and not give full time jobs. If desi bodyshops are punished this way, then all of us will also be punished. and thats exactly what Ron hira wants.
This would actually be a good idea. Then there would be more Visas available. Especially people with US Degrees. Most people with US degrees dont need to work for this fraudulent consulting firms. They are able to find real jobs with real US employers.

For Indians we had vaccination in India at our childhood. Due to this some will get positive results in the skin test. Then doctor is going to recommends for chest x-ray. Some of the doctor's are going to overlook this. Because the medical report is a sealed cover we don�t know what number he written in the medical examination form. You can ask the doctor.
And one more thing is for skin test we have wait couple of days.
From my experience I recommend others to go for x-ray. In my case my immigration doctor, he written 5mm as reaction for skin test. USCIS sent RFE on this to go for x-ray.
I gone for x-ray and answered the RFE immediately.
A chest x-ray is required only if the reaction to the TB skin test is 5mm or greater.

My daugther's date of birth is 03/18/1988. We filed I-485 together in 02,June 2007. We all recieved I-140 approval and I-485 receipt.
I would like to know whether my daughter will age out in 03/18/2009 or 03/18/2010?. She is working as RN ( 2 year degree) in hospital under EAD.
Please send your advice preventing from age out issue.
